As the trade deadline is nearing its end, the Los Angeles Rams have made a trade that will make their stout defense even better, acquiring former first-round pick Dante Fowler Jr. from the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In return, the Rams have sent a 2019 third-round pick and a 2020 fifth-round pick to the Jaguars, according to NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Fowler, whose name has come up in an abundance of trade rumors as of late, has finally found his new home and will join the likes of Ndamukong Suh, Aaron Donald and Marcus Peters on a stacked defense.

Man, talk about the rich getting richer.

As the third overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Fowler missed his rookie season with a torn ACL, but has come back and played well. He has recorded 12 sacks during his first two years on the field and was a major factor in the Jags reaching the AFC Championship Game last season.

The Jags made it obvious they weren’t intent on keeping Fowler after his contract expired this season, so instead of losing him for nothing, they decided to take the best offer on the table and try and load up for the future.

Fowler has all of the talent in the world, but he hasn’t produced like the Jaguars wished, coupling that with off-the-field issues.

This move will serve as a fresh start for both parties ahead of free agency, at which point Fowler will likely depart LA once more.
